Ode to Liszt

Franz plays

and I create. Maybe

it’s not really Franz but

his songs, rhapsodies,

on a CD and I imagine

his hands flying, effortlessly

over ivory. Mine glide so

over canvas, splashed red.

He was under

the influence of a painter

and I

of a pianist.

music and art each colour the other
    painting and listening and moving
it’s an odd experience for all the right reasons of sensitivity
because one gets to travel inside the musicians psyche
and ones body moves in accordance to the notes
I think shamanistic in experience eh
but you don’t have to answer that I will just smile that’s cool for me
    red
    I love red
this part of the world turns red at night the sky and the sea
    same at dawn
    I enjoyed this work

  2. Darlene Franklin-Campbell – Appalachia – I believe we are great spiritual beings on a journey through this physical realm and we each have gifts to share along the way. Writing is one of the ways in which I get to share my gifts. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share with you.

    Jack,

Thank you for you kind and wondering comments. I always enjoy what you say and I am thankful that you followed a path of poetic breadcrumbs through the cyber door of my hut.
