old friend, I have asked
the questions you penned

have asked them of holy men,
of sinners, politicians and
partying fools

yet none have answered me
with satisfaction. The world
keeps turning in facades.

I wonder as you said
at the vanity of it all
and find myself

in earthen ware,
simply waiting
for someone to break
the vase.

  1. Well, I have finished reading your entire blog now.
    didn’t see much vanity here.
It is my favorite for many reasons.

    some of them:
it is just so darn easy to read your writing.
    i love the natural world.
    my wife is a teacher.
you dont cuss , ha ha.

thank you for all of this

  2. I think you are too kind, but still, it makes me happy that you like my work! Also, your wife has chosen a humbling profession. It continuously brings me to my “spiritual knees”. Yet, I never regret choosing it.
