Midnight hair
lay shiny on a pink dress
amid dogwood boquets, but
flowers should not signal
the end.

I still hear
Delta Dawn
and remember,
yes, remember,
how her voice sounded
like May all year long.

I am a poet, novelist and artist living in the Appalachian Foothills. I believe we are great spiritual beings on a journey through this physical realm. We are timeless entities stepped into time.
