I envision…

Advertisements

a world without grenades
or broken glass, where flies
become extinct due to lack
of death, filth and mosquitos
find no blood to drink.

Disease is banished,
money used for mulch
and gold melted to pave
roadways for bare feet

that are never cold
since winter has fled.
A hundred years is late
childhood and adults
are youthful at millineum’s
end.

  1. fiveloaf – I am a child usurped into the vagaries of an enigmatic world. Amidst that humdrum, I found in quiet solitude, a whole new world that I can finally breathe in. A world where there is no distinction between heaven, earth and man- between what is, what is to come and what has been- a world that is magical, pure and serene.

    • Darlene Franklin-Campbell – Appalachia – I believe we are great spiritual beings on a journey through this physical realm and we each have gifts to share along the way. Writing is one of the ways in which I get to share my gifts. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share with you.

  2. Kimberly's Page – My name is Kimberly LaRocca and I live in Florida. My husband and I have been together for 16 years and we have 4 boys. My earliest memory of writing was probably in 5th grade. I wrote a short story and won the Pride Award for writing. I look back at the story now and realize that writing is what I’m suppose to do. But life happens, I got distracted, went to college for something totally different and just stopped writing. I’d write things throughout the years and just file it away. I have a stack of composition books with ideas or thoughts that I had at a particular moment. After a series of car accidents I found myself a stay at home mom and I begin to write again. I had forgotten how much I loved to write. I don’t know if anyone else feels this way, but when I sit to write it just flows naturally. I was shocked when I had my ah-hah moment and realized this is how I will leave my mark. The wonderful thing about writing is that I can create something that no one else ever has in the history of the world. I think that makes us all pretty special. Nope, only peaceful, not boring…a mosquito free world would be…well, too wonderful to express. 🙂

  3. weekdaypoet – around and about – "There's no such thing as writer's block for writers whose standards are low enough." -- William Stafford Amateur writers aren't necessarily bad writers. But they are, almost by definition, the sort of writers that procrastinate on their magnum opus. Ever since leaving high school and entering the "real world," I've written maybe five poems. And good ones! But only five. That's pathetic. You can't even call yourself a poet with output like that. I'm overcoming the fear of writing and its accompanying rationalization that "I don't have the time to put in the effort my genius ideas require" by the One Day One Poem blog. Because, at the end of this year, I'd rather have 100 mediocre poems and a handful of good ones than nothing at all.

As a matter of curiosity, do you really think this can happen? Or is this the best you can ask for?
